Weymouth is a small town in found in Dorset England. This place is popular among tourist no matter what the season is. The beautiful coastline is the main come on of Weymouth including its climate that is perfect. Top attractions include gardens, museums and historic place of interest. Also walk around the old harbor where you can find boats and ferries.
Weymouth is truly a destination that you can visit the whole year round. There are a lot of people choosing this as a vacation spot due to its climates and beautiful beaches. Even King George III loves this place because this is where he and his family usually spend their holidays. Today Weymouth will treat anyone with its attractions ranging from historic interests, gardens, shopping centers, cinemas and more. You will also find a beautiful harbor where boats, yachts and ferries are park.
World Heritage Jurassic coastline
This is an area that is rich in pre history considered one of the best geological tourist attractions. You can find fossils staring from early history of the earth. You can also find in this place the chesil beach which is filled with pebbles and shingle. The coast is truly breath taking.
There are quite a number of museums found in Weymouth. One is the tank museum which houses the collection of fighting vehicles from all over the world. Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum is another interesting museum that exhibits the life of three martyrs. You can also visit the Royal Signals Museum that was designed to showcase communication equipment that is use in wars. If you haven’t got enough of Jurassic coastline then you can visit the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum. This is where you can find collection of fossils of the dinosaur. There are also other museums namely Weymouth Museum, Timewalk, Deep Sea Adventure, and Tutankhamun Exhibition.
The Bennetts Water Gardens is an eight acre site that is created for a peaceful walk by the lake. Inside the garden is also where you can find a museums, aquatic center and tearooms. Abbotsbury Sub Tropical Gardens is filled with exotic plants and charming garden walls. Athelhampton House & Gardens is one of the finest country houses in England. Thomas Hardy's Homes is a small cottage where Thomas hardy was born. It has a beautiful orchard and garden. Other places of interest include Corfe Castle, Forde Abbey & Gardens, Mapperton Gardens, Sherborne Castle, Tudor House and Blue Pool & Tea House.
Weymouth Old Harbor
This is considered to be the trading place of this small town. The beautiful harbor is the home of boats, yachts and ferries. If you want to go to Channel Islands, there are daily trips leaving this port. All around the harbor is where you can find pubs, cafes and restaurants. You can taste dishes made from fresh fish. While in the harbor, also check out the Nothe Fort, Brewers Quay and more. In the marina is where you can find Deep Sea Adventure, Tudor House and Newton's Cove
