First off, you should not miss the London Eye. This towering structure – it is over 135 meters high – is an amusement ride and observatory all in one. Having over 32 air-conditioned capsules or pods, a ride in one of these offers the tourist and holiday seeker a magnificient view of the entire London cityscape. The pods are large enough to host an entire family. The ride is over a half hour long, because the Eye moves slowly at only a half-mile per hour. Admission is GBP14 for an adult, GBP7.25 for children up to 15 years old and GBP11 for senior citizens.

Of course, a weekend in London would not be complete with visiting the famous remnant of the Victorian age: the Tower Bridge. The Tower Bridge, built in 1894, is one of the most advanced structures of its time. Built to ensure steady traffic in the Thames River, the Tower Bridge’s engines raise the platform for vehicles each time a boat approaches the bridge. A pedestrian platform exists to ensure steady pedestrian traffic even when main platform is raised. Admission to the Bridge consists of two tariffs: one is charged for the building, and the other is for the exhibition. For entry into the building, you have to pay GBP2 for adults and GBP1 for children. The exhibition costs GBP6 for adults, GBP4.50 for pensioners and GBP3 for children.

Finally, we go on a cruise along the Thames River. Like the London Eye, the cruise offers tourists a chance to see London’s attractions from a distance without having to visit all of them. There are many companies that offer these cruises, all with different amenities and inclusions. These cruises either go along the entire length of the Thames River, or end at one point along the way. Ticket prices vary from company to company.
